COIL WOUND HEAT EXCHANGERS
Proven cutting-edge technology for high-efficiency, high-pressure and high-temperature duties
Proven cutting-edge technology for high-efficiency, high-pressure and high-temperature duties
GREENTUBEâ„¢
Thanks to their high thermal efficiency, compactness, and ability to withstand extreme pressures and temperatures, Coil Wound Heat Exchangers (CWHE) have become essential equipment in modern industries such as Oil Refining, Chemical, Power Generation, Nuclear Energy, and Metallurgy.
Designed to operate under the harshest conditions, this type of heat exchanger offers superior performance with lower footprint, making it a preferred alternative to traditional shell & tube exchangers, especially in large-scale and high-pressure applications.
Coil Wound Heat Exchangers consist of spirally wound tubes arranged within a shell, with enhanced heat transfer features such as corrugated tubes, internal fins, or external bellows. This design promotes turbulence, drastically improving thermal performance and enabling significant savings in space, energy, and operational costs.

Our Coil Wound Heat Exchangers are built with one or more groups of spirally wound tubes, supported inside a pressure vessel. The spiral winding and tube geometry are selected based on the customer’s exact process conditions, including flow rates, pressure drops, media type, and thermal approach. This technology enables efficient handling of up to 8 different process streams simultaneously for heating, cooling, or condensation. The continuous spiral path creates turbulent flow, boosting heat transfer and reducing surface area requirements. Coil Wound Heat Exchangers are designed for pressures up to 300 barg on the shell side, and up to 1400 barg on the tube side, with temperature ranges from -250°C to +650°C.
